Best GTX 1080 Laptops for Gaming

1. Best GTX 1080 Laptop: ASUS ROG G703 17.3″

The most impressive GTX 1080 laptop is the ASUS ROG G703. If you are looking for a high-end gaming laptop, this is arguably the best you can get, and it is not surprising that it is expensive.

It sports a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution that works with the graphics card to deliver an insanely smooth gaming experience.

Although all the laptops on this list are equipped with the GTX 1080 graphics card, the ASUS ROG is superior in terms of hardware. The laptop runs one of the newest generations of Intel CPUs, which is the i9-8950HK processor.

It comes with a double 256GB SSDs and a 2TB FireCuda hybrid SSHD, so you don’t have to worry about your large files, and it is supported with a massive 32GB DDR4 RAM that ensures that you can multitask efficiently.

The only drawback of this laptop that is worth mentioning is the weight because it weighs over 10lbs. So if you are looking for a lightweight laptop, this might not be the right choice for you.

However, if you have the money and you are looking for a fantastic top of the list gaming machine, the ASUS ROG G703 should be your first option.

2. Best Value GTX 1080 Laptop: HP OMEN X 17.3″

The HP OMEN X is another fantastic laptop that every gamer will really enjoy. This laptop deserves to be on this list because it represents value for money. It has an eye-catching list of hardware, and the price is relatively low.

But, more than just the price, the HP OMEN X comes with an impressive display ability that is good enough to match most of the expensive ones on this list, including the ASUS ROG.

It sports a massive 17.3″ IPS display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 and an impressive refresh rate of 120Hz. It is powered by G-sync technology, which makes it perfect for pro gamers, especially competitive esports gamers.

It is equipped with an impressive Intel i7-7820HK processor and supported with 16GB DDR4 RAM that ensures that you will always have a smooth gaming experience. In addition, this laptop can be the perfect one for anyone looking for a high-end machine that can handle other major computing tasks like video production and graphic design.

Although, if you are looking for a GTX 1080 gaming laptop, it means that you are not looking to pay pennies, however, the price difference between the Omen X and the GX501 is more than $300. Although the GX501 is equipped with a better processor and better components, the gaming performance between these two laptops is quite close.

So if you are searching for a GTX 1080 laptop that will deliver the ultimate gaming experience at a reasonable price, you should check out the HP Omen X.

3. 4K Gaming Laptop: Razer Blade Pro

Razer is one of the famous names in the laptop gaming industry, and if you are a serious gamer, you will definitely be familiar with the brand. They’ve been known to manufacture amazing gaming laptops that are capable of handling the most high-end games.

There are limited 4K gaming laptops in the market right now, and that is because most laptop graphics cards are unable to run the triple-A games at 4K resolutions.

And this is where the Razer’s Blade Pro stands out. It is equipped with an impressive Intel i7-7820HK and supported with 32GB DDR4 RAM to ensure that the laptop is powerful enough to run most high-end games without any issue.

The Razer’s Blade Pro sports a 17.3-inchdisplay with a massive screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a refresh rate of 60Hz that work together to deliver the ultimate gaming experience. This is arguably the best 4K gaming laptop that you can find right now.

However, it’s important to mention that even the GTX 1080 graphics card that comes with this laptop will struggle to deliver over 60 FPS in high-end games at peak settings on its 4K screen. So if you are looking for a gaming laptop with more than 60 FPS in your games, this might not be the right one.

To get the best out of this laptop, you can reduce the settings, and since it is engineered with G-Sync technology, you will still be able to enjoy playing your favorite games at a framerate that is less than 60 FPS.

Overall, this is one of the few laptops that can actually handle 4k gaming without experiencing color shifts and other potential disruptions. If you are willing to sacrifice some settings and some serious money, you will definitely enjoy this laptop.

4. Cheapest GTX 1080 Laptop: Acer Predator Triton 15.6″

Acer’s Predator Triton 700 is another fantastic GTX 1080 laptop that you will easily fall in love with. It is worth mentioning because of its price, which is incredibly low.

It is equipped with the standard Intel Core i7-7700HQ and sports a 32GB of DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVME SSD, which is quite an impressive combination of hardware.

In terms of display, it comes with a 15.6-inch display and a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 powered by IPS panel with G-sync technology, which is quite similar to the HP Omen X, the only difference is that the HP Omen sports a 17.3″ screen.

Right now, the Acer’s Predator Triton 700 is the least expensive, and you will need to pay around $2000 to get one. When you consider the features which include being powered with a GTX 1080 graphics card with a screen refresh rate of 120Hz, it’s definitely worth checking out.

It is equipped with a decent processor although a bit old, but it will be able to handle most modern games without any issue.

So if you are searching for a GTX 1080 gaming laptop that will give you decent gaming experience and do not want to spend more than $2000, you should consider Acer’s Predator Triton 700.

5. ROG Zephyrus GX501 15.6″

Asus is considered one of the best manufacturers of high-end laptops, and the ASUS ROG GX501 is another solid one. It sports the standard GTX 1080, and it is worth mentioning on this list because of the quality of the components that they were able to pack in its ultra-slim design.

The laptop is equipped with the popular Intel Core i7-8750H processor and supported with a memory size of 16GB DDR4 and a 512GB SSD to ensure that the computer can handle most high-end games that are available right now.

It sports a 15.6-inch display with a standard screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 with a refresh rate of 144Hz and comes with NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology. It is quite lightweight and weighs just 5lbs, which is half the weight of ASUS G703.

The ASUS ROG GX501 is suitable for people that are looking for a GTX 1080 gaming laptop that is very portable. So if you like playing your favorite games while traveling, this might be the right one for you.

The only significant drawback of this laptop is that you will probably need to invest in a cooling pad to maintain the temperature of the components during long gaming sessions. Overall, the ASUS ROG GX501 is a decent gaming laptop.

6. MSI GT63 TITAN-046 15.6″

The MSI GT63 TITAN-046 is another fantastic GTX 1080 gaming laptop that is packed with an impressive combination of hardware. It is equipped with the popular Intel Core i7-8750H processor and supported with 16GB of DDR4 memory.

In terms of storage, the laptop sports a 256GB NVME SSD, and a 1TB secondary hard drive ensures that you can save your games in any settings you want. The secondary hard drive is also big enough to accommodate all your essential files and documents.

The MSI GT63 TITAN-046 sports a decent 15.6-inch display with a screen of 1920 x 1080 with a refresh rate of 120Hz and comes with G-Sync technology.

The features of the display are definitely similar to the Hp Omen X. The only notable difference is that the Omen X sports an IPS panel while GT63 comes with a TN panel.

The main issue that I have with the MSI GT63 TITAN-046 is the price. The price is almost the same as the ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX501 (my first honorable mention), just $100 less. It’s quite understandable because the GX501 has some minor drawbacks that might discourage people.

However, the MSI GT63 TITAN-046 is more expensive than the HP Omen X and does not have the features to justify the price. The former comes with a slightly better processor, but the difference in performance is negligible and does not worth the price gap.

Overall, the MSI GT63 TITAN-046 is a powerful gaming laptop with an impressive display, but there are cheaper options with similar features.

7. MSI GT75 TITAN-055 17.3″

The last laptop on the list is the MSI GT75 TITAN-055, mainly because it is quite expensive, but it comes with a feature that will attract some gamers, the cooling system.

Nobody wants a gaming laptop that heats up quickly; it is annoying and can be distracting. It is actually more difficult for the ultra-slim notebooks because they are too compact to allow adequate airflow or to have space for the type of component that can maintain the heat.

The MSI GT75 TITAN-055 is quite bulky and delivers an impressive cooling performance as a result. And it also comes with fantastic hardware that makes it capable of competing with its contemporaries.

MSI GT75 TITAN-055 is equipped with an Intel i7-8750H processor and supported with a memory size of 16GB DDR4 RAM which makes the laptop to be able to run multiple background programs and juggle in between numerous tabs without experiencing any issue.

It sports a massive 17.3-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 screen, powered with a TN panel and G-sync technology that ensures that you can accurately view images on the screen from wide angles.

And it’s also worth mentioning that it is powered with a GTX 1080 graphics card that can easily handle the latest AAA games in moderate settings. It will definitely struggle in high settings, so if you are looking for a laptop to play the latest high-end games in max settings, this might not be the right one for you.

However, while it might be the best option when we consider the cooling design system, it might not be enough to justify the price tag. All the other laptops on this list come with a decent cooling system, and some even have better hardware specifications.

Overall, the MSI GT75 TITAN-055 is definitely an excellent GTX 1080 gaming laptop, but there are cheaper options.

Summary

If you are willing to pay and you want the best gaming laptop in the market right now, these GTX 1080 laptops are likely the best that you can get.

In addition to the impressive graphics card, the laptops on this list come with powerful gaming-specific displays that will always give you that ultimate gaming bliss.
